Foodie Friday - Cucumbers in Sour Cream

Michael at Designs by Gollum is hosting Foodie Friday. Click on the link to go to other food posts.

Our church picnic was this past Sunday. I made cucumbers in sour cream as my contribution.
Ingredients:
2 cucumbers, peeled and thinly sliced
1 tsp. salt
1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
8 oz container of sour cream
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. chives, chopped
1 Tbsp. dill weed
1 Tbsp. sugar
Peel and slice the cucumbers.

Sprinkle with salt and chill for at least 30 minutes. Pour off the accumulated water.

Add the remaining ingredients. Chill.
While we had many pasta salads, brownies and beans at the picnic, this was the only cucumber dish.

This is similar to a recipe I make, but I always like to vary ingredients on things I make often. This sounds like a perfect solution! Sour cream and dill — yummy!

That is a wonderful summer recipe! I guess for any time of the year, but cukes are so "cool", summer has to be their best season!
Loved your comment about your white pants on my "white" post...Goodwill, here they come!

God bless,
Mary

This is a great idea for all of those cucumbers that are ripening up right now! Thanks for stopping by my blog, and I laughed out loud at your answer to the profile question about digging a hole to China.

Ya know, I wouldn't even TRY a "cuke" until a couple years ago ... don't recall the occasion, but must've been famished. What a pleasant surprise ... now, I'm hooked. Thanks for sharing this recipe; I'll try it at our next pot-luck.

Oh, your cucumber salad looks wonderful!! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and for your sweet words about our family's little bichon. She was actually my parents dog but I loved her like a little sibling. They are such a sweet breed and yes they did get another bichon. This one is a little more lively and fiesty but just as adorable as their other sweet little lovely dog. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

My best to you and your sweet little Caeser!
Debbie
