Spiritual Sundays - See You At the Pole

Thank you Ginger and Charlotte for hosting Spiritual Sundays. Click on the link to visit their blog for other spiritual inspirations.

See You at the Pole™ is a student-initiated, student organized, and student-led event. That means this is all about students meeting at their school flagpole to pray—for their school, friends teachers, government, and their nation. See You at the Pole™ is not a demonstration, political rally, nor a stand for or against anything. See You at the Pole™ is scheduled annually on the fourth Wednesday in September, which is September 23 in 2009.

Sharing your faith at school is not always easy. See you at the Pole brings people of all faith together and laying aside all of the labels and groups for one day, to simply engage with God in prayer and connect with follow Christians in unity around the school plag pole. It's a chance to connect and pray with others at the start of the school day. A way to say "God is important to me" and you'll discover He is important to others too.

This year’s See You at the Pole™ theme is very simple—ENGAGE:

GO AND PRAY... 2 Kings 22:13a

  • ENGAGE your school

  • ENGAGE your community

  • ENGAGE your world . . . for His glory!

See You at the Pole™ is a great place to

  • ENGAGE God,

  • ENGAGE with other believers, and

  • ENGAGE His heart for your campus . . . in the name of Christ.

See You at the Pole™ connects believers together at the beginning of the school year, so you can stand strong together throughout the year.

Matthew 18:19-21 - “I promise that when any two of you on earth agree about something you are praying for, my Father in heaven will do it for you. Whenever two or three of you come together in my name, I am there with you.” (CEV)

I've heard of this and think it is a terrific idea. I didn't know it was still going on. I'm so glad it is. If students ever needed to pray it is now.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Blessings,
Charlotte

That is just wonderful! My teenage granddaughter tells me that they still have a Christian Club on campus at her school, where they are allowed to pray. Praise God for calling these young people to Himself, giving them the courage and desire to openly worship Him. Prayer...what a privilege! Thank you for sharing this...it is truly inspirational!
May God bless you!

I used to work too in Orthopedics in a big hospital until I had a neck injury and that was when the Lord brought me to the correctional facility. Glad to know that your daughter found something she likes to do. God bless.

My son would do this when he was in high school--it is a wonderful thing--wish they would do it more often, actually.
