Spedie Fest, Binghamton, NY

The first weekend of every August, the town of Binghamton, New York hosts the Spedie Fest. This is a festival named after their famous sandwich, the spedie. I already posted about this sandwich and the marinade. Click here to go to that post.

The main feature, is the hot air balloon launches which, weather permitting, take place every morning and evening of the festival. Seeing the whole sky filled with colorful balloon is an awesome site. You can purchase a ride. Perhaps someday I will.

There is food, crafts and music. The Marshall Tucker Band performed on Friday.

In the evening there was fireworks.

Susan at A Southern Daydreamer is hosting Outdoor Wednesday. Click the link to see other outdoor posts.

O, I love love love hot air balloons. So colorful, so scary to think of riding in one myself but...if ever I can screw up the courage, I would LOVE to try it.

I love to see hot air balloons but have no wish to fly in one. We had one land in front of our house one day. They didn't mean to...but that was where they set down.

That really looks like a fun time, Karen! Hot air balloons are just a delight. Loved this post.

Just wanted you to know that I will be MIA from my blog for an extended time. I will come visit you when I return if not sooner.

XO,

Amazing to see hot air balloons rise to the sky and too scary for me to ride but oh the freedom one must feel up there in the wide blue sky.

How fun!! :)

Our town used to host the annual air show and balloon fest and I really miss that. The year that my husband and I married, in our backyard, numerous air balloons launched during our dinner reception and it was so lovely, as they floated overhead.
