Porch Party

Rhondi at Rose Colored Glasses is hosting a porch party. I have so excited about this event. I really need ideas for my back porch. We love our porch, but it needs a lot of work. I think I will save my photos as the before.

Some of the projects on our to-do list is to upgrade to white vinyl porch railings and paint the porch floor.

This folding chair was just purchased at GW for $15.

Here is my thrift store birdcage I shared with you when I first got it.

I think this was meant to be a hanging candle holder. It's Princess House. We got it for a wedding gift. I got so tired of the wind blowing over my vase on the table, I thought I would put my flowers in here. No more spilled or broken vases.

My husband's pride and joy.

I hate the amber votives, but they will do until I find 6 of the same in clear. When I first got this, I put tapers in. The first time I lit them, they dripped down all over the table. Uck.

I am on the hunt for a charming little stand for the lamp. Until I find the right thing, thrifting or yard saleing, the little TV tray will have to do.

I got the idea from all you bloggers to use real indoor furniture outside. This is a cheap piece, I don't care if it gets ruined by the rain. It holds bird seed, and other garden stuff. See Caesar looking. Down off the porch is our hammock and swing.

My hosta bed alongside the porch.

Gate to the backyard. Come back again.

Your porch is a great haven to relax on. We also have a husbands pride and joy on our deck...it gets a lot of use during the summer.

Ooooh I love the chest you have out there. Storage and cuteness.

We grill a LOT over the summer and Fall monthes. Warren's Mom bought us a nice grill. What a blessing.
It is so nice to keep the kitchen clean and still have a great dinner.

Your porch may be unfinished, but it's LOVELY! And it's such a blessing to have an outdoor space like this -- a place to cook, to eat, to read, to gather with friends and family -- and yours surely can do all those things just as it is!

I look forward to seeing the completed porch, but meanwhile -- I like what you already have!

O, I love your porch..the white railing and painted floor will really spiff it up, too.
Just give that indoor chest a coat of poly and it won't get ruined outside. It is so nice for the storage.
Thanks for the tour of your cute space...

I love porches, so I knew I would enjoy looking at your post. I would love to sit on your porch with you. I have a small deck and I keep hinting to my DH for a roof over the deck. Don't think it will happen though...Enjoy your porch!

Hi Karen :)

I think your porch is lovely! I know how it is though when it doesn't feel just right yet. How about repurposing some of those things that you don't like with paint?

Your garden is beautiful and my husband would kill for that BBQ... okay maybe not kill, but you know what I mean right?? LOL
