The Difference
I got up early one morning and rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish that I didn't have time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me, and heavier came each task.
"Why doesn't God help me? I wondered.
He answered, "You didn't ask."
I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on gray and bleak.
I wondered why God didn't show me;
He said, "But you didn't seek."
I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly childed, "My child, you didn't knock."
I woke up early this morning, and paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish, I had to take time to pray.

Amen to this, how true it is..I had a hard day yesterday, and this morning I made sure I prayed before my feet hit the ground. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Debbie
So true! I keep hearing His words that this is the day He's made and is the day in which we should rejoice and be glad! :-)
XO,
Sheila :-)
This may be the most timely and needed message I have read on Spiritual Sundays today. Thank you so much for posting.
What a beautiful poem and how true.Prayer does make all the difference! God Bless you and your family this Thanksgiving. Oh, by the way, Caesar is adorable!
This is such a great poem...and much needed reminder of two start our days!
Have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!
Isn't it amazing how much smoother the day goes if we take time to pray? Thank you for this reminder. In today's busy world, it is easy to forget and we all need to be reminded from time to time.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week.

This world is just so full of distractions. But what a difference when we start and end our day with the Lord. Thank you for this great poem. God bless. Happy Thanksgiving.
Amen.

This is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing, Karen!...Christine
Thank you for posting this poem.
I love it and it seems you are the only place on the Web in which it is located!
I am trying to find some write-up on Alan Grant, the author of the poem. Do you know anything about him? I would like to give him a little more credit than just his name tag to the poem when I post it.
You may email me at gram_pam@comcast.net.
Warm & fuzzy hugs,
Pam
