Spirit of Women Day of Dance

My stepsister Nancy, who is an RN at Holy Spirit Hospital, in Camp Hill, invited me to attend an the Spirit of Women, Day of Dance. The Day of Dance celebrates the Red Shoe as a symbol to inspire action for good health.

They had health screenings, chair massage, and medical providers distributed educational materials.

The most fun was the dance demonstrations. The Egyptian Moon Dance Company gave a belly dance demonstration. I like the fact that there was women of all ages and body shapes, not just slender 20 year olds.

When we walked into the ballroom, instructors on stage were leading dozens of women in an aroebic dance. What fun we had learning to stay active and healthy.

After we left the hotel, we couldn't just go home so we hit the thrift stores. Nancy showed me more thrift stores than I knew existed. I got a tablecloth, valance and a blouse. Then we finished the day with a Chinese buffet. Yum.

What a PERFECT day! I love the belly dance picture. I have a dear friend who is Greek and has belly danced her way through life as did her mother. She is now 93 years old and has never been on any kind of medication. She took two Tylenol for the first time in her life just last summer!

Karen,
That sounds like my kind of day especially thrifting, and chinese food!!!! If I tried the belly dance in a group setting, they would not get much done for laughing at me!! lol I have heard that it is very good exercise.
Blessings,
Sue

Thank you so much for your comment!

The women in our Troupe truly do demonstrate what this dance is all about. We even have mothers and daughters dancing together...just as they do in Egypt.

Glad you enjoyed the event! And once again, thank you all for your kind comments.
