I have just recently discovered spray paint. Can you believe it? I purchased this really ugly hand painted ceramic chicken dish. I though that I liked the idea of it being a chicken dish, but not with the garish red. It was only $1.31 at the thrift shop. Then I remembered Kimba and her spray painted dishes.
Before:
I got a can of soft yellow Valspar spray paint at Lowes. I applied many light coats instead on one heavy coat. I was afraid of drips. I think it turned out real well.
After:
I'll use it to serve a tub of margarine.

I love how you sprayed the chick. Are you using a special paint for the ceramic?
Love the color.
Oh Great! Now I'm the only person left who hasn't spray painted anything! LOL -- great job -- I think you'll get much use from your little chicken dish!
I am just amazed at this. I am seeing several posts today, about spray painting glass or china -- something I never would have thought about doing. The results are enchanting. It's amazing, really. What fun!

What a great idea. Those butter dishes are hard to find and yours looks great.
Karen, thank you for stopping by my Met. Mon post and your kind comments. I really appreciate it. Just like your fabulous chicken, everything was done on a really tight budget, but it's fun to try to be thrifty. Thanks again. Hugs, Marty

Love the yellow!
Regarding the foam core picture of three ladies on my blog, I didn't sew through the foam core, I stretched fabric around to the back and secured it, then stitched a rectangle of fabric over the back to finish it off. The picture hangs from two plastic rings that I stitched to the backing. :)
Great job on that project! "It looks so much better" is an understatement! Wow! I love quick fixes...
Happy Monday!
Wow! I like it much better in that pretty color of yellow that you used. I had no idea you could paint pottery like that. It looks great!
