Fireproof's 40 Day Love Dare

Thank you Ginger and Charlotte for hosting Spiritual Sundays. Visit their blog for other spiritual inspirations.
Our church recommended this movie so much that they purchased it. Last Saturday they showed this movie after a lovely covered dish Valentine's dinner. If you haven't heard of this movie or the accompanying book, you will.

In the movie Kirk Cameron's character, Caleb Holt, is a fireman who's motto is "Never leave your partner behind." However, he and his partner in marriage are on the verge of divorce. This movie is available on DVD and in the Red Box. Check out the web site for Fireproof. I am not getting any money to promote this movie. It is just very inspirational.

Caleb's father challenged him to the 40 day Love Dare challenge. Every day there is a simple act of love to help you connect with your spouse.

This Love Dare is also a 20 day guided daily devotional book by Alex and Stephen Kendrick.

Whether couples are are having trouble in their marriage or if their marriage is solid and loving. The Love Dare helps couples to understand and practice unconditonal love.

My husband and I have completed one week of the Love Dares. Day 2: Do at least one unexpected gesture as an act of kindness. In addition to bringing me a cup of coffee up to the bedroom that morning, look at what my wonderful husband surprised me with later that day -- a homemade apple pie! He's a keeper.

Thank you for telling us about this wonderful movie. We have heard many good things about it and plan to see it soon. We have been married over fifty years but we still have some things to learn. The pie looks fantastic and to me would indeed be an act of love. A few days ago my wife and I, along with two relatives visited Sedona, AZ and ate some wonderful peach cobbler at Ken's Creekside Resturant. Pie helps cement a relationship. Lol

My husband and I have been married for 37 years. We are waiting to get this film from Netflix. They said it will take long because so many requested it!

Our church is about to start a sunday school series from Fireproof your marriage. I've heard it said, your church is only as strong as your marriage is. And right now our church is very divided so it's my prayer to see healing. I feel like it's our last chance.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and thought I would tell you to get the gorilla glue that is clear/I believe they call it gorilla super glue.
Blessings

Hi Karen, My dh and I went to the theater to see that movie. it was emotional and brought us to tears sometimes. Then our church showed the movie but because of my knee surgery I was unable to go. My dh went and saw it again. He said he kept wishing I was there too. I believe it is a life changing movie for married couples.

Thanks for the review, I think you nailed it.

Hugs...Jeanne

My husband and I just watched this movie this weekend. I really liked the message of the movie, but thought some of the acting was a little cheesy. However, I love the message it brings to the forefront about marriage. What a wonderful husband you have to make you a apple pie (WOW!).

Blessings your way,
