Bible vs. Cell Phone

"Sunday Favorites" is a Sunday meme which Happy to Design has created. to give bloggers a chance to share a favorite post from the past. This was my second post, I ever did. Click her link to check other Sunday Favorites.

Since it was originally linked to Charlotte and Ginger's Spiritual Sundays blog, I'm also linking to their meme again. My boss sent me this email.

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several time a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible? Oh, and one more thing: Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

Wow! What a great post. We are so honored that you chose to share this with us on Spiritual Sundays. It's great to meet you. I hope your blogging experience turns out to be as good for you as it has for me. I started blogging last January. This year has gone by fast. I never dreamed I would get so into blogging when I started.
Blessings and welcome to blogland.

Blessings Karen...Awesome...who would have been so clever to make this comparison.Such a fantastic analogy! I've heard that Jeremiah 33:3 never is disconnected either.

I didn't have a cell phone until recently! It would serve me much better to use my BIBLE! The part I believe is the most awesome and amazing from this SUPER post is your last line...for I'm so thankful that Jesus paid the price for me.

I'm glad that I came to visit. Thanks for the wisdom. Love your Caesar! Be blessed & enjoy your Spiritual Sunday friends..they're the best!

You made your point very well. I personally don't have a cell phone. My wife keeps one in her purse for both of us. But I am well aware of how devoted most people are to their phones. Thank you for sharing these good thoughts with us. Please continue to participate in Spiritual Sundays each week.

Hi Karen,
That was a fantastic post! It gives one much to contemplate. I don't have a cell phone either {Hubby does for emergencies only} but almost everyone I know does. Thank you so much for sharing and have a wonderful day!

Blessings,
Sandi

I loved this! Although I don't use my cell phone except occasionally or for emergencies I would love to see people use their Bibles like a cell phone! Imagine driving down the highway and seeing people pulled over so they could read their Bible.

Have a blessed evening,
Kathi :)

I LOVE this!!! Would you mind if I copied it and emailed it to a couple of friends? I never would have thought to make that analogy, but I had chills from the first line on. I couldn't agree more. Thank you so much for sharing.
*hugs*

OMGosh, Karen! Thanks so much for this wonderful post. It made me realize that my Bible is up in my bonus room and I'm downstairs these days - avoiding stowing the final Christmas clutter away!

Congratulations on your new blog. I'm so honored to be on your blog roll!

Karen, dear, that is POWERFUL! I think of how many HOURS I spend on the phone, and I hate to admit it but my scripture readings pale in comparison. I do try to keep God on my mind all day. I try to think about Him and kind of keep up a running diaglog, but that's so true about the Bible.

This was great! Thanks, I needed to read this today!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Karen...

Just wanted to stop by to say thank you for joining in with Sunday Favorites this week...what a great post!!!

I love the comparison used between cell phone and Bible!!! Girl, I only have one thing to say...if this were so...that we used our Bibles like we use our cell phones...

THIS WORLD WOULD BE A DIFFERENT PLACE AND WE WOULD ALL BE A DIFFERENT PEOPLE!!!

Thank you so much for resharing this post for Sunday Favorites...it is certainly "food for though"!!!

Have a marvelous Monday!!!
