Spiritual Sunday - 90 Minutes in Heaven

I am reading the book by Don Piper, 90 Minutes in Heaven. Please watch this video of his interview.

I only wish that he had spent more time talking about this visit to heaven. Most of the book is about his medical treatment and recovery. However, it is still a must-read.

Thank you Ginger and Charlotte for hosting Spiritual Sundays. Visit their blog for other spiritual inspirations.

Oh, this is such a special story. My parents had a friend who died twice on the operating table in two separate incidents, and she told her story to everyone who lost a loved one. She saw her parents and loved ones who had gone ahead across a thin veil that she said looked like diamonds glistening in the sun. She was a committed Christian and became more devout after her experiences.

This story is awesome, but we serve an awesome God!

XO,

Sheila :-)

I read this book and scratched my head because it says in the Bible that we are "appointed once to die."

Karen, thank-you for such an uplifting video and story. I spent all of yesterday and I am on my way back to the hospital today to see my ailing grandma--Meme.

This is a lovely reminder that our faith is justified!

Thank-you for your kind and encouraging comments at the Katillac Shack! I appreciate you!

What an interesting story. There is so much of life -- and death -- that we don't understand, but it will all be made clear one day. Thank you for sharing this with us on Spiritual Sundays.

Great story. My dad had a near death experience but his was a little different. While he was officially, deceased, he says that he was in a beautiful pasture kind of place with a stream running in front of him. Across the stream he saw his grandmother, other relatives, and friends, all deceased, forming behind her. The next moment he saw them all turning around and walking back and he called out to her and said, Wait where are you going? I want to go with you! And she said it's not your time yet, we'll see you soon. And then he was resuscitated. He did a lot of research after his own experience to compare it with other people's. The similarities are astounding and faith building. Thanks for sharing.

All the best,
